According to the City of Houston Infrastructure Design Manual, water lines are closed conduits designed to distribute potable water for human consumption, and to provide fire protection. </SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>The GIS Services Group of Houston Water, Houston Public Works currently stores and maintains the dataset in a Relational Database Management System (RDMS). </SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN>The pump pressure main layer includes Distribution and Transmission Lines, Well Collection Line, and Take Off. The information for the pump pressure main layer is digitized from Plan and Profile Engineering Drawings obtained from Block Map, As-Built, Field Verified with Control Number, Taps and Meters, Metro, Field Verified Fire Department, Field Verified Fire Line, Construction Drawing (Layer), Fire Department, and Capital Improvement Project. </SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN><SPAN /></SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN STYLE="font-style:italic;">Geospatial or map data maintained by the Houston Public Works for informational purposes and may not have been prepared for or be suitable for legal, engineering, or surveying purposes.
